Description

The U.S. army airship OA-1, commonly called a "pony blimp", was transferred on September 28, 1923 to Chanute Field from Belleville for training and instructional purposes. The envelope has a capacity of 35,000 cubic feet and the ballonet holds 7,200 cubic feet. The OA-1 was brought to Chanute for training and instructional purposes for the air service school.
